Youth being Charged & Sentenced to Prison as an Adult: Right or Wrong? You Decide...

This is not going to be one of my 'typical' posts. During research for one project I found myself side tracked after watching the first video below. Although I have always recognized this as an issue (in my opinion) I never really dedicated a lot of time to researching the sentencing of youth as adults; rather, I've focused more on other types of abuse and neglect issues surrounding our youth.

As mentioned, I viewed the first video and before I realized it I watched another video and then another. I must say, I found this all very disturbing. Many may believe that some youth have committed such heinous crimes that they absolutely deserve to be sentenced to prison as and alongside adults. I beg to differ....

In previous posts we've established the fact that imprisonment does not rehabilitate inmates; so that being the case, how can imprisoning youth with adults for years upon years help them? Okay, let's say depending on the crime youth should be sentenced as an adult, but placed in prison with adults??? That to me is the ultimate infliction of abuse and neglect on a child!

Well, enough listening to me; take a look at these videos and then you decide; is this right or wrong? Is this an issue that causes more problems than they solve?
