Dr. Moriel McDuffy, LMSW, PhD ~ Therapist
Dr. Moriel McDuffy has 25 years of experience working with the neediest youth and families in the community. He uses clinical skills to empower underserved populations to change.
Dr. McDuffy enjoys working with various populations, but he specializes in treating children and adolescents with behavior issues through family engagement. His professional experiences include treating youth with stress, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and inappropriate sexual behaviors.
Dr. McDuffy has expertise in issues that men and boys face. Work in this area includes implementing evidence-based violence prevention programs using Anger Regression Training and addressing intimate partner violence with the Coaching Boys into Men curriculum.
An expert in job burnout and stress, he has a published dissertation in that area and provides training on the topics. He utilizes strength-based approaches and trauma-informed approaches to help people. Dr. McDuffy operates through the core belief that everyone has a purpose, is worthy of that purpose, and can thrive.
Dr. McDuffy received a master’s degree in Community Counseling Psychology in 2006 from Springfield College and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University in 2016.
