We believe that within every individual has the potential to achieve greatness. Our vision is to successfully help individuals and families achieve greatness as it is defined by them. Through the services provided, with a major focus on our youth, TC revisits the old African term 'Sankofa' (go back and get it)! With re-education, guidance and a whole lot of support, TC helps individuals and families recreate their lives and prepare for the transition into great mental and emotional health, success, and happiness.
Our goal is to be a positive force within the lives of many, particularly those who otherwise would not be able to obtain services and resources to help empower and strengthen them. Through TC, there is growth in individuals that afford them the opportunity to be recognized as viable members of society, and they gain the ability to live happy, healthy and productive lives. We are a voice within the nucleus of many communities, Creating Healing, Answers, and Necessary Guidance for Excellence!
Tomaro's C.H.A.N.G.E. was founded by a woman who sees the mission of the organization as more than just a dream. Having experienced quite a bit in her life, and having her first child at the age of 17, she knows how easy it is to lose one's sense of self; and how difficult it is to make good decisions and to be a positive role model for your child. Looking back at her life, Tomaro understands the struggles of being a teen mom and living with a number of negative life experiences.
Considering the many issues that individuals, particularly youth struggle with today, it is clear that many are in great need of encouragement, support and guidance, especially youth who reside in disenfranchised communities and in out of home care. Aside from helping make a difference in the lives of all who seek assistance, Tomaro believes that it is necessary to provide a foundation for young parents to build upon. Due to Tomaro's experience in LIFE, and her professional and educational experience, she is sure that change is possible and with just a little help from another, it is possible for anyone seeking change to improve their lives and the lives of youth.
Tomaro lives by the motto, 'a life today, a nation tomorrow'. She believes that if we can address one family at a time, one issue at a time then we can make a positive difference in the lives of many generations to come.
